12 pieces of advice (because you’re on your own, kid)

Today’s Penjiri’s 2 year bloganniversary.

This year has taught me a lot. It almost feels like I’m a completely different person now. I know more than I did before, not a lot but certainly more. I’ve made a lot of mistakes and tried to learn from them. I am not yet entirely the person I want to be but I’m slowly getting there, I think.

I know I haven’t posted a lot this year, sorry for that but this blog has still helped me a ton so I thought I’d post this here as a kind of a thank you. These are 12 pieces of advice (=12 Months) that I know no one asked for but have helped me a lot, personally. Most of these are lyrics because I tend to listen to music when everything’s wrong. These pieces are for kids like me because we are all on our own.

Dear Daisy Mays,

1. A friend to all is a friend to none.

2. Sometimes everything is going to be wrong even though you do the right things.

3. Getting by is boring so don’t just get by.

4. Find friends who don’t remind you that you’re a bit alone.

5. If it’s too good to be true then it probably is.

6. Validation is for parking.

8. Learn how to handle turbulence.

9. People can go from people you know to people you don’t and that’s okay.

10. Don’t be a jigsaw, don’t change yourself for others.

11. Cut the fake people out like tags on clothing.

12. You’ve gotta find your way into the new, out of the old.
